Thinking of You - card (color challenge)

The color challenge I worked on today is hosted by {The Color Throwdown}.  This week's color challenge:
This was quite the challenge for me!  Those colors look great together up there, but I had the hardest time making something cute.  I didnt have any good patterned paper that matched so I had to go with plain cardstock -- just prettied up a bit!

I stamped the sentiment, flowers and leaves images with VersaMark ink and used tone-on-tone embossing powders for the flowers.  The leaves are embossed in white.

I laid out a paper doily on yellow cardstock and inked around the edges and inner holes with black ink, then cut around the edges. I drew on some stitching lines with black ink and it was done!

The blue, orange and green cardstock is from PapertreyInk. The striped patterned paper is from DCWV "Mango Frost" matstack.

Just For You - card

There are so many awesome card challenge blogs!  I just came across {The Play Date Cafe} and decided to take part in this week's color challenge:

The challenge was to create something using the three colors above.  This is what I came up with:

This was my first "color challenge" and I must say it was a bit harder than the sketch challenges I've been doing... had to be creative on my own!  :)  But, I do like how it turned out.

The papers are from DCWV "Linen Closet" matstack. I cut a paper doily in half and punched a half-circle scallop for the sentiment.  I looped up some white grosgrain ribbon and topped it with a brown, vintage button to tie everything in.  I inked around the edges of the card and the doily with Sky Blue ink then rounded the top corners to finish it off.

Another Sweet Christmas

Here's the sketch for this week at {Freshly Made Sketches} and my take on it:

I went with non-traditional Christmas colors to make this "Sweetest Christmas" card -- turquoise, red and magenta.  I'm getting lots of use out of my new PapertreyInk stamp and die sets!  The mug, peppermint stick and sentiment are all from PTI's "Candy Cane Christmas" set.  I heat-embossed the mug in turquoise and the peppermint stick in red.  The mug turned out a little bit sparkly, which was a nice surprise!

The magenta paper is from DCWV "Mango Frost" matstack and the woodgrain and polkadot paper is from Crate Paper's "Emma's Shoppe Collection".

Hang Your Heart - Card

For this week's Make It Monday #38 challenge over at the PapertreyInk (Nichole Heady) blog, the challenge was to use an impression plate and a brayer to apply ink over the recessed impression.
My impression plates are limited but I do have the polka dots embossing folder from Sizzix.  I ran that through my BigShot then lightly applied the ink across the page, brayer-style.  I then inked around the outsides with a darker green ink.

Pure Poppy + Ripe Avocado card stock

Miss You - Card

I loved the look of this week's sketch at {Freshly Made Sketches}.  I knew just what I wanted to do with it.

I used my vine die from PapertreyInk to die-cut the vine from thin cardboard (cereal box) then inked it with moss green ink.  I used the same moss green ink to stamp the sentiment frame and black ink to stamp the "miss you" sentiment.  I made a heart-shaped bow with the ribbon and placed a vintage button on top to tie everything in together.  :)

{ THANK YOU! }

The Sweetest Christmas {card}

I just came across the blog {FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES} and I love it!  Each week they post a new "clean" sketch to copy and link up to.

This is the sketch for this week:

I was itching to use my new "Candy Cane Christmas" stamp set from PapertreyInk (which is awesome!)   Here's what I came up with:

Sweet and simple.  :)

Hello, Owl...

It's October! The best month of the year.  Halloween and Autumn themed cards are my favorite to make, so Im starting off with a card I made a last month for PapertreyInk's Make It Monday #30: Colored Pencil challenge.

My PapertreyInk stamp collection was limited at the time, but I really love how this card turned out.

A Spot To Share....

I needed a new place to share some of the paper-crafted things I create, and here it is!  I've become a fan of card-creating challenges and now I can share them with you.  :)
