{THANK YOU}

I made this card for the current sketch challenge over on the {MY FAVORITE THINGS} blog.  I was recently lucky enough to win one of their $100 gift certificates (dude, I know...) and I promptly placed my order.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on some newly released and new-to-me MFT goodies!

This week's sketch is truly fantastic and one I'll be revisiting time and time again, no doubt.  It became an instant classic in my book.

I used a couple of products from Papertrey Ink (New Leaf cardstock and Pretty Pastels Patterned Paper) and the rest are from My Favorite Things: Kraft cardstock, Sweet Tooth cardstock, Sour Apple button, Pinking Edge Circle Stax, Die-Namics Sentiment Strips, Die-Namics File Folder Edges (recently sent to me by this lovely lady... thanks, Tammy!) and the little cutie Pure Innocence Being Cute Is What I Do clear stamp.

I stamped her onto watercolor paper and water colored her with Distress Inks.  I added a few highlights with a white ink gel pen.

I had so much fun making this card!  It's amazing how quickly things come together with a great sketch as inspiration and some amazing products on hand.  :)

{Go Hog Wild!}

Today I'm sharing a card I made for the recent sketch challenge over on the {MY FAVORITE THINGS} blog.  As per my usual way of doing things, I took the sketch and flipped it to make it work for me. I also swapped the circle for an oval... I'm such a rebel.  :)

I used the Pure Innocence Piggy Bank stamp set.  I stamped her onto watercolor paper and watercolored her with Distress Ink. I stamped the Typewriter Text background onto some Bubblegum Cardstock with a dark pink ink. I used one the sentiments that came with the Piggy Bank set and stamped it onto a Sentiment Strip Die-Namics.  I used some hemp twine and a Sweet Tooth button to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by!

{Hello, Friend!}

Happy Independence Day to all my fellow US crafters!  I hope everyone has something fun planned for the day.  I plan on staying indoors with the air conditioning as Summer weather and I do not mix. At all.  So for me, it will be a day filled with crafting, napping, and hot-dog eating. heh. :)

I'm sharing a card I made with the current sketch challenge from My Favorite Things:

Aww, such sweet friends!  I used the masking/stamping technique and combined two adorable Pure Innocence stamps into one image.  I love how the gal on the right looks really shy and her friend is giving her some much needed support.  That's what friends are for, right?

I stamped them onto watercolor paper and watercolored them with Distress Inks.  I paper-pieced their clothes with the matching background papers from Papertrey Ink.

The rest of the supplies are from My Favorite Things:

I'm entering these sweet friends into the following challenges:

{MY FAVORITE THINGS} - Get Sketchy #183
{LOVES RUBBERSTAMPS} - Anything Goes

{LET'S PARTY!}

This crazy little bird from Paper Smooches Stamps' {BIRTHDAY BUDDIES} is one of my favorite go-to stamps for birthday cards.  He colors up so adorably and can be easily worked into a masculine or feminine theme.  I tend to use him most for simple, CAS cards for dudes. :)

I stamped him onto watercolor paper watercolored him with Distress Ink. I added some highlights with a white ink gel pen and coated the balloon in Stardust Stickles.  I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch two small, half-circle holes in the bottom of the die cut piece to create a great spot to hold the wrapped twine so it doesn't slide off the panel.

I'm linking him up to the following awesome challenges:

{PAPER SMOOCHES SPARKS} - Anything Goes
{LOVES RUBBERSTAMPS} - Anything Goes
{SIMON SAYS STAMP} - Anything Goes
