I'm So {LUCKY} You're Mine

I had some of these cardstock colors sitting on my desk from a different project, and when I saw the current My Favorite Things sketch challenge image (linked below), I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

I used a faux washi tape die from a Blueprints set to cut out six coordinating cardstock colors.  I used an MFT flower die set for the layered flower, which I heat embossed along the petal edges with gold embossing powder.  I used the same gold powder to emboss the sentiment and the green button.

I stamped a striped background image in Shabby Shutters green Distress Ink going vertically, to make the final image look woven or plaid.  I flicked on some green/gold Glimmer Mist spray to finish it off.

A Mixed-Media Valentine {LOVE STORY}

I had so much fun making this mixed media Valentine.  I love how a bunch of random crafty items can come together to create something that makes me happy!

This hanging Valentine story started with a chipboard-backed canvas piece, originally from a mini-album.  I gathered some other items that I wanted to use with it and got to work:

I started by heat embossing some random stamping onto the canvas in white embossing powder. Once it was heat set, I sprayed the canvas with a few different colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and quick dried it with my heat tool.  I then used some white modeling paste to add a clock pattern with a stencil, this didn't end up being visible in the end, but I know it's there. lol.

I then took the thin wood hearts and covered them in old book page print, inked around the edges with pink Distress Ink, and stamped the word LOVE onto one heart, and the word HAPPY on the other.  I then inked around the edges of the hearts and the canvas piece with walnut stain Distress Ink.

I colored with key with Ranger Alcohol Ink and heat set it with the heat gun.  I used two small playing cards.. the KING and QUEEN of hearts, naturally... and a STORY word ticket.  I inked around those edges in pink and brown Distress Ink as well.  I also inked up some seam binding ribbon with the matching Glimmer Mist sprays.  I then started layering all of my items and a bunch of flowers from I Am Roses and glued them on wherever they seemed to look best!

Once everything was glued into place, I added some thin white gesso paint around all of the bits and the ribbon to tie it all together, and it was complete. A happy, hanging Valentine love story to enjoy all year.  :)

{HELLO} - A Card Trio

I am loving this card set!  I used the 'Better Together' stamp and die set, the 'Heart Of Gold' stamp and matching die, and the 'Sunburst' stamp from NEAT & TANGLED.  These images are just so cute!

I stamped the images onto watercolor cardstock and painted them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolor markers, water, and a paintbrush.  I then used the matching die set to cut them out.

I stamped the Starburst background image onto watercolor paper using dye ink.  I cut two shades of each color with the Heart Of Gold die and layered them together. Then I assembled each card the same way to make a cute matching set:

{I LOVE YOU} a Pastel Valentine

As much as I love brightly colored Valentine colors, I also love the soft look of pastels.  I wanted to create a warm, Spring-like card for this Valentine, since it's currently pretty dang cold at my house and I'm SO ready for Spring!

This card features the "BEST BUDS" stamp set and matching Icon dies, and the "TAG SCALLOP" die from Paper Smooches.  I created my background by stamping one of the little rosebud images multiple times onto a die-cut watercolor paper panel.  I also stamped the matching floral banner image and watercolored everything with Distress Ink markers, water, and a paintbrush.

I then die cut the Tag Scallop from a few different papers and layers them onto one cardstock base.  I tied the tag with a length of soft, white lace, and popped up the tag in the center of the card.  I backed it onto a kraft cardstock base and finished it off with a few iridescent sequins.
