Color Inspiration Challenge - Card

I finally hooked myself up with some digi images from Some Odd Girl! About time, right?  It was just too hard to choose my favorites.  :)  I made this card for the current "color inspiration" challenge over at the {SOME ODD GIRL BLOG}.
This image is Ice Cream Tia which you can purchase here.  Isn't she sweet?  I printed her on Cryogen Iridescent card stock and colored her with Copic markers.  The DP's are from Recollections and the red/aqua polka-dot DP is from Crate Paper's "Emma's Shoppe Collection".

I had fun making this card -- everything just seemed to come together perfectly.  I love color challenges!  They make the creative process go much more smoothly for me.

The Prima flowers, buttons, and pearly leaf pin all came in a package I won from Amy Young (thanks Amy -- you rock!)

You Are Amazing: Card + DT News!

I'm am so happy to announce that I am one of the newest members of the {ANYONE FOR ANYA?} Design Team!  If you are a fan of stamping images from The Greeting Farm and C.C. Designs, the "Anyone For Anya?" challenge blog is just for you.  Join us each Sunday for new challenges and chances to win prizes from some great sponsors.

This week we have a RECIPE CHALLENGE:

I used the "WS-Dressy Ebony" digi stamp from The Greeting Farm for my image today.  I printed her out on Cryogen Iridescent paper and colored her with Copics.  The 3 DP's are from Colorbok and the card stock is from American Crafts.  My 2 embellishments are the bakers twine and a Prima flower. The sentiment stamp is from a set by Technique Tuesday/Ali Edwards.

I used light and dark pinks/reds to make some pleats in her skirt.  I'm in love with this little gal.  She thinks you are pretty amazing as well!  :)

I am also entering this card into the current "FRIDAY SPY-DAY" challenge at {THE FARM FRESH CHALLENGE BLOG}.  They have a great card we were to 'case'.  Be sure to check it out!

I used the following Copic marker colors:

Hair: Y15, Y17, YR12, YR04, YR07
Skin: E51, E11, E13
Clothes: YG00, YG03, YG06, R20, R32, R35, R29
Flower: BG10, BG13, BG15
Shadows: C-1, C-3, C-5, 0-colorless blender
Highlights with White Gelly Roll Gel Pen

My Friend - card

The current challenge at {ALL THAT SCRAPS} Wednesday Challenge Blog is a color challenge: BLUE, BROWN + TAN.

I thought the occasion called for a purchase of one of the new C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie stamps -- this little gal is "PARTY TIME LUCY", which you can purchase here. She's only $4.  Go get her!

She's darling!  And, she was really fun to color.  I just love how this small card turned out. printed her out on Cryogen Irridescent (sparkly) paper and colored her in with Copics.  The DP is from DCWV Linen Closet, the brown card stock and sentiment are from PapertreyInk (Friendship Jar stamp set) and the card base is Kraft.  The sheer ribbon and flower are from my stash.

The Copic colors I used are:

Skin: E51, E11, E13 + R20
Hair: E23, E25, E27, E29
Shirt/Shoes: E25, E27, E29
Blue Clothes: B02, B05, BG10, BG13, BG15
Highlights: white Gelly Roll gel pen

A Big Bunch Of Love - Valentine's Day Card

I made this Valentine's Day card for my husband... shhhh.... don't tell!  :)

I'm also entering it into a few challenges.  The first is The Greeting Farm's {FARM FRESH CHALLENGE BLOG} monthly retro contest.  The theme this month is "Lucky In Love".

The second challenge is at {ANYONE FOR ANYA} with the theme of "Bling It On!".  Glittery bling?  You betcha!

The third is {STAMPTACULAR SUNDAY CHALLENGE} #148 with the theme of "Seeing SPOTS".
I thought that little "Ruby" and "Oh Boy! Ian" needed to show the world how much they were in love.  What's that?  You didn't know?  Oh yes, Ian is completely head-over-heels in love with Ruby and has been for some time.  How could he not be?  Look how sweet she is!

I hear they planned a sack-lunch picnic at the school playground on February 14th.  Perhaps a first kiss is in order?  A peck on the cheek, to be sure.  I mean, they are children.  :)

I colored these little guys with Copics and cut them out with Nestabilities circles and scalloped circles.  The sentiment stamp is from Penny Black. The DP is from Recollections, the card stock is from American Crafts. The ribbon, bakers twine and flowers are from my stash.  I used red gems in Ruby's hair and on the card corner. It's hard to see in the photos, but I added Star Dust Stickles to their clothes and to the paper flowers for some extra *bling*.  It definitely sparkles!

Hey Dude - card

The Friday SPY-Day challenge this week at The Greeting Farm's {FARM FRESH CHALLENGE BLOG} has a great card we are to "case".  Be sure to check it out and join in!

I decided to make another boy card with different shades of brown and white.  It's a smaller size than what I normally make and it's flat -- it can actually be mailed!  Go figure.  :)
I used the "Oh Boy! Ian" stamp from TGF and stamped him in brown Momento ink on brown Kraft card stock.  I didn't color in his skin, just added a little color to his cheeks.  I paper-pieced his hair, shirt and pants and added some white gel pen to make his eye sparkle.

I inked around some of the edges with tea dye Distress Ink and black Momento ink.  I doodled and colored in the "HEY DUDE" sentiment with Copics and white gel pen. The DP is from Recollections and the card stock is from American Crafts.

It's a fairly simple card for me, but I think it's perfect for a special little dude.  :)

Many HOPPY Wishes - card

This week's challenge at the {TIDDLY INKS CHALLENGE BLOG} was a color challenge:  Orange, Yellow, Green + Blue.

I searched through the Tiddly Inks shop and found the cutest Bunny Boo Adventures digi stamp set, which you can purchase here. I highly suggest it... the set has many images and sentiments (plus the cutest extras) for only $3.50!

It took me quite a while to get this card finished. It just wasn't coming together.  I hope it looks complete! The bow is bothering me a bit... it wasn't supposed to be centered under the circles, it was supposed to be more to the left.  Now that I've looked at it closely, it may be moving further to the left.  :)

I colored the Bunny Boo image with Copics.  I used the colorless blender to make furry dots in his ears and also to draw the lines on his blanket.  Look at his tiny security carrot!  ha

The image and the sentiment came with the digi set.  The DP's are by Colorbok and the card stock is by American Crafts.  The ribbon is from my stash.

You Make My Heart Sing - card

I recently won a challenge from The Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Challenge blog (thank you!).  As my prize, I got to choose any stamp from The Greeting Farm!  Awesome, right?  It was a tough choice.  I ended up selecting sweet "Chelsea", which I used on my card today:

I am entering this card into 3 different challenges:

* TGF's {FARM FRESH CHALLENGE BLOG} #16 - "Get Sentimental" for a prominent sentiment  (I ended up writing my own)
* {ANYONE FOR ANYA} - Sketch challenge (which I followed as closely as possible with what I had to work with)

* {iCOPIC WEEKLY CHALLENGE} #65 - "Unloved/Infrequently Used Colors" (I only have a limited supply of Copics, so I use all of mine constantly, but I don't typically reach for these yellows, browns, oranges and greens together)

I paper-pieced her skirt with the green/yellow DP and added some shadowing with Copics.  It was almost impossible to get the colors to photograph correctly!  The DP's are from Colorbok and the brown and white card stocks are from American Crafts.  The card base is 5.5" x 7.5" piece of Kraft card stock.

The yellow/white bakers twine was wrapped around the card front five times to create a musical staff... complete with bow/button treble clef!  Yes, it was unplanned at first but it turned out to be perfect!  :)

I finished the inside of this card with coordinating DP and an uncolored stamp of the same image... I added a few music notes as well to tie everything together:

You Are Loved - Pixie Card

I'm entering this card into two challenges:  The "Anything Goes" challenge for the week at {ALL THAT SCRAPS} and the {SIMON SAYS STAMP CHALLENGE BLOG}.   Simon says to use Spots and/or Stripes.  At the ATS challenge blog, you just need to use an image from one of the billions available through the All That Scraps Online Store!

I recently purchased this super-cute digi stamp from the ATS store - the C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie Pippi (which you can purchase/download here.)
She's a cutie!  I think she may have been intended to be a pumpkin, but I definitely saw her as a cute fruity berry.  She'll be perfect as both!

I printed her out and colored her up with Copics.  I added some starlight Stickles to her fairy wings and made her shine with a white gel pen.  As I'm typing, I'm noticing that I forgot to add shine lines to her hat!  That must be remedied right away -- she can't go off to live with someone else without a shiny berry hat!  No sirree bob.

I doodled the tag and the sentiment with a black liner pen and added a bit of gray Copics to it to make it look like stone.  The green DP's are from Colorbok and the stripey DP is by Recollections.  The grosgrain ribbon, bakers twine and gem blings are from my stash.  I inked around the outside with a pink liner pen to finish it off.

I totally want to smoosh her little cheeks....  :)

Trust + Hope: card

The {FRIDAY SPY-DAY} challenge over at {TGF FARM FRESH CHALLENGE BLOG} is to case the cute card featured in the post (be sure to check it out!).

Here is my take on the challenge:

I kept the "boy" vibe and the main color scheme from the cased card because I liked it a lot.  I set out to make a simple card and I think I accomplished it.  I kept trying to add more and more things in the end.... ha.

I used the Hello, Ian! stamp from The Greeting Farm and colored him with Copics.  The blue parts of his clothes are paper-pieced, but I went over them with the Copics so it's hard to tell.  For some reason, I love paper-piecing, cutting out and gluing on his tiny shoes.  He seems good and properly dressed that way.  :)

I used white card stock from American Crafts. The Kraft paper and blue DP is from Recollections and the striped DP is from DCWV.  I received the trust and hope tickets in some blog candy I won -- not sure who makes them.  The vine die is from PTI.  The button, bakers twine and eyelets are from my stash.  I inked around the edges with Tea Dye distress ink.

Oooh, La La! - AFA Card

Nothing like finishing a card challenge entry right at the last minute, eh?

I started 3 different takes on this card this week... I just couldn't come up with something that spoke nicely to me.  Luckily, this one seems complete!  :)

I made this card for the weekly challenge at {Anyone For Anya?}  The challenge theme this week was French couture with a great black, white and blue photo for inspiration (see below).
I didn't have anything French-y, so again, I made my own sentiment...  "Oooh, la la" indeed!  I stamped up Flirty Anya from The Greeting Farm and colored her in with Copic markers.  I like how her hair turned out -- different from the other black hair I've colored before.  This was done with more flicking motions instead of overall smooth blending.

The black and white card stocks are from American Crafts.  The designer paper is from Colorbok.  The bakers twine and chipboard heart are from my stash.

Friends are the Flowers of Life - Tiddly Inks Blog Hop

I've recently come to realize something that most of you must have already known.....

Yup, utterly awesome.  Awesome little crafty-nuggets-of-instant-gratification. Not only can they become yours the second you want them, they can be sized and printed to fit your exact project and you can add your sentiment to them before they print!

That is what I did with this cute new digi image from TIDDLY INKS. I purchased the "Wryn - Grow A Little Love" digi stamp and added the sentiment right underneath her to say "FRIENDS are the flowers of Life" -- the Tiddly Inks Blog Hop theme.

As you can see from my previous post with this stamp, you can also flip the image around!  I wanted this card to be different from my last one, so made Wryn a bit smaller and flipped her so her pot-o-love flowers were on the opposite side.

I printed her out onto my favorite Cryogen Iridescent White card stock and colored her with my Copic markers.  She is such a fun image to color -- nothing too complicated and just enough open space to be able to get in some good shadows and highlighting.  Exactly what I look for in a stamp I want to color!  Gosh, she's cute...

The patterned paper on my card is from Recollections.  The white card stock is from American Crafts and the pink card stock is from PaperTrey Ink.  The ribbon, bakers twine and button are from my own random crafty stash.

Here's the list of Copic markers I used to color little Wryn:

Skin: E51, E11, E13, R20 (cheeks)
Hair: Y15, Y17, YR12, YR04
Dress/Shirt: YG00, YG03, YG06, G07
Shoes/Flowers: R20, R22, R35
Flower Pot: BG10, BG15, B05
White Highlights: GellyRoll white gel pen

If you are stopping by to visit from the TIDDLY INKS BLOG HOP -- welcome!  And, thank you for stopping by.   I'll be around somewhere, hop-hop-hopping right along with you.  :)

I'm Lovin' You Lots + Lots - Card

Have you all seen the newly released digi stamps over at Tiddly Inks?  The "Wryn + Friends" stamps are so cute, I had to buy "Wryn - Grow A Little Love".

I printed her out and inked her right up with my Copics so I could participate in the Tiddly Inks {Fabby Friday} Celebrations challenge #77.

What is she celebrating?  Valentine's Day!  Ooh la la......

I'm also linking her up to the {Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog} for the challenge of celebrating something new.  She's got a NEW LOVE   ;)
Isn't she sweet?  I love her pot of heart flowers and her shoes... the shoes just kill me.  :)

I hardly have any sentiment stamps so I had to make my own.  I doodled the words "I'm Lovin' You LOTS and LOTS" and colored them with Copics.  The patterned paper is from Colorbok and Recollections, the card stock is from American Crafts.  The bakers twine and buttons are from my stash.

My printer is out of black ink, but it prints gray just fine.... I had to go over the lines with a black liner pen before I inked her up.  So, if you are thinking of purchasing her, do it!  Your lines will be a bit sharper and straighter than mine are.  :)

Sweet Heart Vine Card - PTI's MIM#48

Today's "Make It Monday" challenge at the {PaperTrey Ink} blog is to create a background with PTI border dies.   Since I only have one PTI border die, I didn't have much of a choice.  :)

I wanted to make a Valentine's Day themed card and this is what I came up with:
I used the vine border die and also the label/sentiment stamps from the PTI "Friendship Jar" stamp set.  The card stock is also from PTI -- I believe it's called Raspberry Fizz (I got the sample card stock set and misplaced the color guide!  Doh!).

The ribbon, chipboard heart, button and bakers twine are all from my stash.  I placed the card front onto a Kraft card base.
It was fun and super easy to make. Thanks for the challenge, PTI!

Princess Anya on a Cloud - Card

I'm still trying to find my "style" of card design.  For this card, I wanted to do my own thing and get some doodles in there.  I did, however, make it work for four different challenges!  :)

The first is the {iCopic Weekly Challenge #63} which is for Smooth/Shiny hair (with Copics, of course).
The second is for Monday Fun-Day at {The Farm Fresh Challenge Blog} which is a color combo this week: BLUEWHITE + another COLOR of my choice (I chose BLACK)
The third is another entry into the "It's All White" challenge at {Anyone For Anya?}.
The last is for the "Anything Goes" challenge at {Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog}.
I used the Princess Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm and colored her with Copic markers.  I just doodled the cloud with a liner pen and added a little light blue Copic color.  Her dress, crown and scepter were left white, but are covered with Star Dust Stickles.  She's glittery!

I added some white + clear buttons and doodled around them and everything else with a white gel pen.  I wrapped it with some turquoise/white bakers twine.

WISH - an easel card

I have a second entry to the current "It's All WHITE" challenge at {Anyone For Anya?}.

I'm also entering it into the Anything Goes! challenge at {Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog}.

It's an easel card!
I had to watch a few YouTube videos to find the style of easel card that I liked best.  This is definitely it!  I love the scalloped circles as the card base.  I couldn't capture the true colors in the photos -- the base is a light pink and the top is a pinky salmon color.  Both card stocks are from PapertreyInk.

I used the Princess Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm.  I stamped her with VersaMark ink and embossed her with white embossing powder.  The W I S H letters are brads by ProvoCraft.  The ribbon, button and chipboard heart are from my random stash.  I also did some ink lines and dots with a while gel pen.

I definitely see more easel cards in my future!

It's Your Day - Mostly White Card

The challenge right now over at {Anyone For Anya?} is to make an all or almost all WHITE project. This was a challenge for me!

I am also linking this card up to the {Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog} for the "Anything Goes!" theme.
I used the "Oh Boy! Ian" stamp from The Greeting Farm as the main character, but I used the cute hat from the "Hello Ian" stamp.  I stamped it onto some patterned paper, fussy-cut it out and highlighted it with some Copics.  Then I plopped it right onto his head.  I think he looks awesome!

The card base is Kraft.  The sentiment stamp is from PapertreyInk's Friendship Jar stamp set.  The buttons, rope and the chipboard heart are from my stash.  The white lines around the outside were made with a white gel pen.
